Doctor Who is my favorite show ever. It's not perfect, but it's exciting, fun, witty, creative, and quirky. The best way to watch is with an open mind and with (preferably) a good episode. Sometimes it can get cheesy or too silly, but as whole it's an amazing show. Series 11 starts next year with Chris Chibnall as the new showrunner and Jodie Whittaker as the new Doctor, and it's gonna be fantastic. God bless Doctor Who!

Doctor Who is, in one sense, a metaphor for whats happened to this show. What was once an entertaining and sometimes thought provoking sci fi series, has been infected with a thread of political correctness, that's at times brittle, dour, lecturing and ultimately rather tiresome. Its not helped by a lead character, the Doctor, who unsurprisingly, does not appear to know what she is supposed to be. Small wonder, when the overall vibe coming from the show, is so conflicted. Maybe time for this one to go off air for a few years and return with a fresh approach. As it stands 3/10.

**It had a good early run, but is now tarnishing its legacy** I've been a devoted fan of Doctor Who since the 1970's, watching all of the original episodes, the film, and faithfully kept up with every installment of the 2005 series. All throughout I have experienced the ups and downs that come with being a fan of a Doctor Who. While the gap between the old 1989 series and new 2005 series was disappointing, the stories beginning in 2005 were promising and managed to captivate my attention. Within short order it raised the bar on the original series, and the outings were a lot of fun, highly entertaining, and left me wanting more. However, as the 12th Doctor (played by Capaldi) approached the later part of his run, I noticed a gradual decline in the quality of the storytelling. Although there were still some bright moments, the overall trend seemed to be moving downward. This same trajectory continued on during the 13th Doctor's (Whittaker's) tenure, where her regeneration occurred at a particularly low point in the series. With the recent outing for the 14th Doctor's (Tenant's) reign, which was undoubtedly a trip down memory lane, the stories presented were a far cry from the captivating narratives of his time as the 10th Doctor. What has become increasingly evident with each episode is the show's prioritization of shoving ideological rubbish down the viewer's throat over solid storytelling. Yes, the writers are now sacrificing the essence of the show in favor of pushing certain agendas. Subsequently, the series has transformed into more of a vehicle for these messages rather than a platform for compelling, entertaining, and intelligent storytelling. The excessive use of extravagant graphics, explosions, and elaborate sets seems merely an attempt to distract from the underlying issues, and akin to putting lipstick on a pig. After much consideration, this last outing helped me make the decision to pull the plug on Doctor Who, since it's only going to keep getting a lower score at this rate. Perhaps it is time for the series to take another extended break, as it did during the 1989-2005 period, in order to refocus on what truly made the show special - its captivating and engaging storytelling. It had a good early run, but I see no point in further watching it tarnish its legacy with the current trend it's following: 9th Doctor - 9/10 10th Doctor - 10/10 11th Doctor - 9/10 12th Doctor - 7/10 13th Doctor - 5/10 14th Doctor - 3/10 Total: (43/60) 7/10.
